Composer and Sound Designer
About Mackenzie
Mackenzie Cleland (they/she) is a classically-trained composer, sound designer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, having graduated in the Class of 2019 from the University of Calgary. They studied counterpoint and orchestration in classes taught by Juno Award-winning Canadian composer Allan Gordon Bell, and are adept in a wide variety of genres, styles, and ensembles.
Mackenzie is based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and has a lifelong dream of scoring soundtracks, particularly for videogames.
When not composing or geeking out on music theory, Mackenzie can be found playing with her pets, enjoying a good RPG (tabletop or electronic!), and researching various topics of interest to her, especially anthropology, linguistics, and philosophy.
